Frequently Asked Questions
Do I pay my deductible?
Yes. Under Texas Insurance Code section 707.003, a contractor cannot pay, waive or absorb your insurance deductible, and the invoice must state that you have paid or will pay it.
Why was my first insurance check so small?
Many replacement cost policies pay in two parts. The first check is the actual cash value, which is the replacement cost minus depreciation and your deductible. The rest, called recoverable depreciation, is usually released after the work is complete. Check your policy for the details.
My claim was denied. Is that final?
Not always. You can ask your insurance company for a reinspection or send more documentation, and many policies include an appraisal clause for disagreements about the amount of the loss. Call us and we can inspect your roof.
Can you negotiate with my insurance company for me?
In Texas, negotiating a claim on your behalf is the job of a licensed public adjuster. As your roofing contractor, we can inspect the damage, write up a detailed report and meet with your adjuster.
Should I file a claim at all?
Not always. If the damage is minor and the repair costs less than your deductible, a claim may not make sense. Our free inspection will help you decide whether filing a claim is warranted.
